Writer's Block: Church and State

Today in 1893 U.S. President Benjamin Harrison declared full amnesty for Mormon polygamists. Is it the government's place to define which marriages are valid and which are not?

Honestly, I've commented on this subject before...Want marriage to be specific? Ok, give it back to the churches it started with...want everyone to be able to marry everyone? give it to the government...much as they want to regulate it, their own equal opportunity laws prevent it

I agree with this - it's either one or the other. Mixing one morality into the state that governs all is bad juju.
